CLEVELAND, Miss. | The No. 4 UAH men's basketball team broke the school record for consecutive victories on Thursday evening with their 21st straight win as they defeated Delta State on the road 80-74.
The Chargers improved to 21-1 (16-0 GSC) with the victory, while the Statesmen fell to 11-11 (7-9 GSC).
Daniel Saylor had a monstrous performance in the game as he posted a career-high 25 points to go along with 13 rebounds for his 10th double double of the season. The Pleasant View, Tennessee, native went 12-for-13 from the field with seven offensive boards and six defensive rebounds.
Blake Campbell added 18 points and nine rebounds to the winning effort as he went 7-for-10 from the field.
Tommy Murr tallied 10 assists in the game in addition to nine points and four rebounds.
Auston Leslie and
Luke Burnett each added 10 points apiece in the victory for the Chargers.
The Blue & White dominated the Statesmen in the paint, outscoring DSU 56-to-20 in the painted area. The Chargers also led the way in second-chance points 21-to-2 and bench points 18-to-0.
UAH will try extending their win streak as they head to Clinton, Mississippi on Saturday for a matchup against Mississippi College at 4 p.m.
