Women's Basketball Pulls Past Delta State in Fourth Straight Road Win

CLEVELAND, Miss. | The UAH women's basketball team picked up a 56-50 road victory at Delta State on Thursday night in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 18-4 (13-3 GSC), while DSU slides to 11-12 (7-9 GSC).
 
Lili Wilken guided the Chargers offense in the victory with a team-high 17 points to go along with eight rebounds, one assist and one steal. Wilken went 5-for-8 from the floor and 7-for-7 on free throws across 27 minutes on the floor.
 
Wilken has now scored 16 or more points in six consecutive games.
 
Alexis Woods nearly achieved a double-double with nine points and a team-best 10 rebounds, with the senior going a perfect 4-for-4 on field goals against the Statesmen.
 
Ivey Maddox joined Wilken in double-digit scoring with 10 points on the night in addition to seven rebounds over a roster-leading 40 minutes played on Thursday.  This was Maddox's sixth time posting 10 points or more in the GSC schedule.
 
Overall, UAH shot 44.4 percent (20-45) from the field while holding the edge over DSU in rebounds (40-24), second chance points (10-5), and points in the paint (32-20).
 
The Chargers return to action on Saturday at Mississippi College. Tip-off slated for 2 p.m. on Saturday in Clinton, Mississippi.
