Baseball Rolls in the Midweek Against Miles

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH baseball team won a midweek game against Miles College at Charger Park 14-3 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Chargers improved to 10-11, while the Golden Bears fell to 14-7-1 after the midweek matchup.

In their past two games, UAH has put up 38 runs after a 24-5 win on Saturday against Montevallo in tandem with Tuesday's victory.

Nine different UAH batters had hits in the game, with JC Wilburn and Braxton Griffin each contributing three-run home runs to lead the Blue & White. Reigning Gulf South Conference Player of the Week Brock Butler hit a two-run homer to kick off UAH's scoring in the game.

Connor Wilson had two RBI, while Jayce Upton, Presley Walker, and Joey Caruso each added an RBI apiece.

On the mound, Nick Compton got the win after coming on in relief of starter Jake Thornton. Compton pitched two innings and gave up no earned runs as he struck out three Golden Bears.

Additionally in scoreless relief pitching were Logan Mooney and Jaxon Hay who each pitched one inning.

UAH is set to host West Florida at Toyota Field this weekend with a single game on Friday at 2 pm and a Saturday doubleheader beginning at noon.
