HUNTSVILLE | The UAH softball team returns to Charger Park with a three-game Gulf South Conference series against West Florida featuring a doubleheader on Friday at 1 p.m. followed by a single game Saturday at 12 p.m.

The Chargers come into the home weekend series with a 14-12 overall record and a 7-5 mark in GSC play this season, after a split in a nonconference doubleheader against Columbus State on Wednesday in Trussville, Alabama.

UAH's offense is guided by a pair of players batting .340 or higher in 2025, including
Maddie Cartron at a team-high .397 and
Jada Henderson at .341. Cartron additionally leads the Chargers with a .726 slugging percentage with six doubles and six homers, while Henderson boasts a team-high 10 doubles and 20 RBI.

Head coach
Les Stuedeman's squad leads the GSC this season with 90 total walks, guided by
Lawren Hayes and
Kylee Smith with 12 free passes apiece. The Chargers are also second in the GSC with 60 stolen bases, with
Brittany Slaten rating third in the conference with a team-best 21 steals.

UAH's pitching staff comes into the weekend ranked sixth in the GSC with a 3.58 team ERA, as
Katie Bracken enters the series with a team-best 2.86 ERA over 73.1 innings pitched.
Megan Shurtz has also performed well with a 3.16 ERA in 75.1 innings.

West Florida starts out the GSC series with a 16-7 overall record and a league-best 9-3 mark in league games, following a series win at home over Trevecca Nazarene last weekend. The Argos offense is led by Hannah Harper with a .387 average, six doubles and four homers, while the UWF pitching staff owns a 2.48 team ERA guided by Haley Guffey at a 1.69 ERA in 95.0 innings.

After this weekend's series with West Florida, UAH is back at home against next weekend with a GSC series against Auburn Montgomery next Friday and Saturday.
