HUNTSVILLE | The UAH softball team hosts No. 5 Auburn Montgomery for a three-game Gulf South Conference series at Charger Park, beginning on Friday with a single game at 4 p.m. followed by a doubleheader Saturday at noon.

The Chargers come into the weekend set at Charger Park with an overall record and 15-14 that includes an 8-7 mark in GSC play, which is good for fifth in the league standings currently.

UAH is at home for the second weekend in a row, after dropping a series to West Florida last Friday and Sunday.

The Chargers offense features three players batting .320 or higher, led by
Maddie Cartron at a team-high .395 average through 29 games this season. Cartron additionally leads UAH with 59 total bases thanks to six doubles and a roster-leading seven home runs.

Jada Henderson rates second on the squad with a .361 average to go along with a team-best 12 doubles and 24 RBI, while Brittany Salten boasts a .322 average and leads the Chargers with 21 runs and 23 stolen bases.

UAH's pitching staff is highlighted by
Katie Bracken this season, as she guides the rotation with a 3.12 ERA over a team-high 89.2 innings pitched. She leads the conference with 116 strikeouts in her junior campaign.

Auburn Montgomery comes into the series in the Rocket City with an 18-6 overall record and an 11-4 mark in GSC play, after sweeping Christian Brothers at home last weekend. The Warhawks offense has four regulars batting .330 or higher this season and averages 4.8 runs per game, while the AUM pitching staff features a 1.95 team ERA.

UAH holds an all-time series record of 12-13 against AUM, with the Warhawks winning the last three matchups.

After this weekend's series, UAH is on the road for a midweek, neutral-site doubleheader in Chattanooga, Tennessee, against nationally-ranked North Georgia on Wednesday at 1 p.m. CT.
