Box Score 2 CLEVELAND, Miss. | The UAH softball team won twice at Delta State on Friday by scores of 8-2 and 11-1 in a doubleheader to open a three-game Gulf South Conference series. UAH improves to 19-17 (11-9 GSC), while DSU slides to 10-19 (5-14 GSC).

Game one: UAH 8, DSU 2
A two-run second inning that featured RBI singles by
Brittany Slaten and
Maddie Cartron put the Chargers ahead for good in the series-opener as UAH went on to add five insurance runs in the seventh to win it 8-2 over Delta State.

Katie Bracken went the full 7.0 innings in the circle for the Chargers, allowing two runs and zero walks while notching six strikeouts on Friday. She also put UAH on the board with a first-inning RBI single in her lone hit of the contest. Her record improves to 8-7 with the victory.

Jada Henderson made a strong impact out of the lead-off spot, going 3-for-5 with a team-high three runs scored.
Brittany Slaten rated second on the squad with two hits and two runs, as she also notched an RBI in the first inning.

Lawren Hayes drove in a team-high two runs in the series-opening win, with the senior driving in both runs as part of the Chargers five-run rally in the seventh inning.

Game two: UAH 11, DSU 1 (5 innings)
An eight-run eruption by the Chargers in the third inning of game two of the doubleheader keyed an 11-1 victory for UAH on Friday.

Alexa Douthitt led the UAH offense with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate with a team-high three RBI, as her afternoon featured a solo home run in the second inning which scored the first run of the game by the Chargers. Her homer was her fifth of the 2025 campaign.

Gracie Ashley rated second in the lineup with two RBI, as she highlighted the eight-run third with a two RBI single.

Sadie Thompson and
Jada Henderson had two-hit days at the plate, with Henderson notching her team-leading 14th double of the year in the victory.

Megan Shurtz started in the circle for the Chargers, tossing the full 5.0 innings with one run allowed, zero walks and five strikeouts. Her record rises to 9-8 with the win.
