CLEVELAND, Miss. | The UAH baseball team dropped the final game of a Gulf South Conference series against Delta State on Sunday afternoon 7-1 on the campus of Delta State.
The Chargers dropped to 14-18 (7-14 GSC) on the year, while the Statesmen improved to 25-8 (18-3 GSC) on the season.
UAH took an early 1-0 lead in the game in the top of the first with a
Presley Walker solo home run to kick off the game's scoring. Delta State would answer with four runs in the bottom half of the inning and never surrender the lead again in the game.
Overall, the Chargers had six batters record hits in the game, with
JC Wilburn notching the only multi-hit game with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate.
Will Noles recorded a double in the game with a 1-for-4 day at the plate.
On the mound,
Cory Hagood made a 4.1 inning relief appearance as he surrendered just one earned run on five hits with a pair of strikeouts.
The Chargers are back in action on Tuesday in a midweek matchup against Carson-Newman at Charger Park at 3 p.m.
