HUNTSVILLE | The top-seeded UAH men's basketball team won a 2025 Truist Gulf South Conference Championship quarterfinal game against Lee on Tuesday night at Kelly Court in Spragins Hall by a score of 86-67 to advance to the semifinals in Birmingham on Saturday.
Tuesday night's win also marked UAH's 28th straight victory as the No. 3 ranked team in the nation used an efficient second half to overcome a one point halftime deficit as they outscored Lee 51-to-31 in the second half.Â
In the second half, UAH shot 66.7 percent from the field in comparison to just a 46.2 percent mark in the first half. From three, the Chargers were lights out as they went 7-for-11 in the second half.Â
GSC Player of the Year
Tommy Murr led the way offensively for the Chargers as he put up 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field and 4-for-5 from three in the win.Â
Fellow First Team All-GSC honoree
Blake Campbell had a double-double in the victory as the graduate student put up 16 points with 10 rebounds and added four assists.Â
Second-Team All-GSC big man
Daniel Saylor scored an efficient 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting with eight rebounds and a block.
Overall, the Chargers outpaced the Flames in assists 16-to-7 and outrebounded them 32-to-23.Â
UAH will face off with Delta State on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Pete Hanna Center in Birmingham. The fifth-seeded Statesmen defeated number four seed Trevecca Nazarene to advance to the semifinal round.
