Softball Welcomes Mississippi College to Charger Park Friday and Saturday

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH softball team welcomes Mississippi College for a three-game Gulf South Conference series at Charger Park with a doubleheader Friday at 12 p.m. followed by a single game at 12 p.m. on Saturday. This series was originally scheduled for Saturday-Sunday prior to the change earlier this week.
 
Admission to all UAH softball regular season home games is free this season, courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

UAH enters the weekend set with a 22-17 overall record and a 14-9 mark in GSC play, after most recently sweeping Union at Charger Park last weekend. The Chargers currently sit in fifth in the GSC standings ahead of the series against the Choctaws.
 
The Chargers offense has scored the fourth-most runs in the GSC so far in the 2025 campaign with 201 runs scored, as UAH's roster features three players batting .340 or higher. Maddie Cartron has been UAH's offensive leader in her senior season with a team-high 72 total bases, thanks to seven doubles and a team-high eight home runs. Cartron has also recorded a roster-leading 30 RBI this campaign.
 
Both Jada Henderson (.362) and Brittany Slaten (.342) join Cartron in batting over .340 entering the week, with Henderson boasting a team-high 14 doubles and Slaten leading UAH with 30 runs scored and 29 stolen bases. Henderson rates second in the GSC with her 14 doubles, while Slaten is third in the conference with 29 steals.
 
The Chargers pitching staff owns a 3.66 team ERA, guided by Katie Bracken with a team-best 2.72ERA over 123.1 innings pitched. Bracken's 2.72 ERA rates 11th in the conference this season, as she also ranks second in the league with 140 strikeouts.
 
Mississippi College starts out the weekend with a 29-11 overall record and a 17-7 GSC record, which has the Choctaws in a three-way tie for first in the league standings. The Choctaws average 6.0 runs per game through 40 games this season, and are guided offensively by Blakely Gill with a .439 average and .720 slugging percentage. MC's pitching staff owns a 2.53 team ERA, led by Camryn Bailey at a 1.73 ERA over 104.2 innings pitched.
 
UAH holds an all-time series record of 15-13 against Mississippi College.
 
After this weekend's series, the Chargers look ahead to the final regular season road games in 2025 next weekend at Trevecca Nazarene.
