Softball Hosts West Alabama Friday and Saturday to Wrap Regular Season

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH softball team wraps up the 2025 regular season at Charger Park with a three-game Gulf South Conference series against West Alabama. A single game on Friday at 5 p.m. opens the series, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
The UAH softball program will honor its 2025 senior class prior to Friday's series-opener, as the ceremony will include Kinley Adams, Maddie Cartron, Jessie Cole, Lawren Hayes, Jada Henderson and Sadie Thompson.
 
The Chargers have already clinched a berth to the 2025 GSC Softball Championships starting on Wednesday, April 30 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama. UAH is currently tied for fourth in the conference standings with an overall record of 26-19 and 18-11 in GSC play heading into the final weekend of the regular season.
 
UAH's offense rates tied for fourth in the GSC this season 227 runs scored, as the Chargers also rate in the top six in the league with a .377 team on-base percentage and .280 team batting average.
 
Cartron headlines a lineup that features four players with batting averages of .310 or higher, as she leads the way with .357 batting average and 76 total bases. Henderson rates second on the squad with a .347 batting average and a team-high 14 doubles.
 
Katie Bracken leads the UAH pitching staff with a 2.59 ERA over a roster-high 148.2 innings pitched. The Decatur, Alabama, native additionally ranks second in the GSC with 170 strikeouts.
 
West Alabama comes into the series this weekend tied for sixth in the GSC standings, as the Tigers are 29-16 overall and 18-12 in GSC games. UWA averages 4.9 runs per game, while the Tigers' pitching staff has a 2.13 team ERA.
 
UAH holds an all-time series record of 87-13 against West Alabama, with the Chargers winning 14 out of the last 15 meetings with the Tigers.
