Tommy Murr and Lili Wilken Honored as GSC Top Ten Award Winners

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its 2025 GSC Top Ten Award recipients, and UAH Athletics was represented by Tommy Murr from Men's Basketball and Lili Wilken from Women's Basketball.
 
Murr becomes the 15th UAH male student-athlete to earn GSC Top Ten, while Wilken is the 13th UAH female student-athlete to garner the prestigious distinction. This is also the ninth time UAH Athletics has garnered two GSC Top Ten Award winners in one academic year.
 
The award recognizes the top female and top male student-athletes for their athletic, academic, and extracurricular achievements, during the 2024-25 academic year. The top student-athlete from each group of honorees will be also be awarded the Commissioner's Trophy, which is the conference's most prestigious individual honor.
 
Top Ten awardees and GSC Commissioner's Trophy winners will be recognized and announced on Thursday, May 29 in Pensacola, Florida.
 
A native of Athens, Alabama, Murr earned NABC All-American and GSC Player of the Year honors after leading the Chargers in scoring and assists during a historic season as UAH posted its highest-ever win total and a 32-2 overall record.
 
Murr led all of Division II in free throw percentage this season as he went 151-for-161 from the charity stripe with a 93.8 percent free throw percentage. He put up 20.8 points per game during the Chargers run to the NCAA Division II South Region Championship game and averaged 5.7 assists.
 
Overall, Murr finished up his Charger career with the second-highest UAH point total for a single-season with 688 points and is the career leader in free throw percentage in Charger history at 93.7 percent.
 
Wilken had one of the most outstanding seasons in UAH women's basketball history in her first campaign in the Rocket City, as she garnered GSC Player of the Year after leading the Chargers to a 25-7 overall record, a GSC tournament championship game appearance and an NCAA tournament berth with a team-high 18.0 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game.
 
The Nolensville, Tennessee, native additionally led the Blue & White with 55 steals and 34.4 minutes per game, while rating second on the squad with 55 steals. Her 575 points this season ranks fifth all-time for the program, while her 18.0 points per game is eighth in team history for a season.
 
Wilken garnered several additional awards for her performance in the 2024-25 campaign, including D2CCA South Region Player of the Year, D2CCA All-American and College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honors. Moreover, she is the only student-athlete in program history that was named All-American and Academic All-American in one season.
