BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The UAH men's basketball team was voted second in the 2025 Gulf South Conference Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll announced on Wednesday morning.

The conference also announced its GSC Newcomer Watchlist, as transfers Thomas Allard (Lincoln Memorial), Quentin Toles (Kentucky Wesleyan), and Knute Wood (Tennessee State) represented UAH on the newcomer list. 

The Chargers received four first place votes, while Montevallo received six first place votes. UAH is followed by Valdosta State, West Alabama, and Lee rounding out the top five. 

On Tuesday, UAH was named the No. 6 team in the nation in the NABC Preseason poll after posting a 32-2 record last season. Last season's squad posted the highest win total in school history and made the eighth South Region Championship in program history.

UAH opens the 2025-26 season in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on November 14 and November 15 against No. 1 Nova Southeastern and Barry.
