NEW ORLEANS | The US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their National Athlete of the Week awards on Monday afternoon and UAH standout
Ahmed Ibrahim was named the Division II National Athlete of the Week.
Ibrahim won the individual title at the Lucian Rosa Invitational with a 24:10.0 time in the 8k to win. He defeated six of last year's NCAA Division II All-Americans in the race hosted by UW-Parkside. The time also ranks eighth all-time in UAH men's cross country history, with
Sam Wilhelm holding all of the top seven times in program history.Â
The National Athlete of the Week is an award selected and presented by the USTFCCCA Communications Staff at the beginning of each week to 14 collegiate cross country athletes, when applicable (male and female for each of the three NCAA divisions, the NAIA and the NJCAA).
