Box Score HUNTSVILLE | The UAH men's soccer team started off the 2025 season on the right foot Thursday evening with a 2-0 win over the visiting Illinois-Springfield Prairie Stars.
Both of UAH's goals were scored by graduate senior Phillip Seifert with his first goal of the year coming in the 27th minute, assisted by Junior Brennan Leblanc. The Germany native scored his second goal of the match in the 57th minute when he put a Donavan Pruitte pass into the back of the net.
Redshirt-sophomore Sonny Wright notched his 1st shutout of 2025, which matches his season total for all of 2024.
This is the third time in the last five seasons that UAH has opened the season up at home. They are 2-0-1 in those matches. The Chargers are also now 2-1-2 in home openers over that same time frame.
They will be back on the pitch at Charger Park Sunday afternoon at 3pm. The win over Illinois-Springfield came in match one of a three-match home stand.
