Volleyball Wraps Up Debut Weekend with 3-1 Victory Over Henderson State

NASHVILLE | The UAH volleyball team completed action at the Ray Thrasher Classic hosted by Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville on Saturday with a 3-1 (32-30, 25-16, 21-25, 25-22) victory over Henderson State. 

The Chargers and Reddies played a tight first set as the teams fought back and forth to a 32-30 first set in favor of UAH. The second set went the Chargers' way 25-16 before Henderson State took set three 25-21. UAH secured the match with a 25-22 win in set four.

UAH was once again led by Caroline Moyer in kills as the senior posted 19 kills with a .357 attack percentage, bringing her total for the weekend to 47 total kills. Zoe Smith had 14 kills and 20 digs in the match, while Cooper Garrett led the way in assists with 37. 

Kayla Ward, Mary Grace Bundrant, and Ella Moore each totaled six blocks in the match, with the Chargers posting 13 total blocks. 

UAH returns to action on Friday, September 12 at 2:30 p.m. when they host Lincoln Memorial in the UAH Invitational presented by the Huntsville Sports Commission. The Chargers will also face off with Nova Southeastern at 7 p.m. on Friday, with a matchup against Spring Hill on Saturday, September 13 at 2:30 p.m.
