HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's soccer team was edged 1-0 by Tampa on Sunday morning at Charger Park. With the result, the Chargers move to 0-1-1 on the season, while the Spartans improve to 2-0-0.

The lone goal of the contest came late in the second half, as Tampa's Jess Brannon provided the game-winner in the 87th minute.

UAH generated six total shots with four on target, led by Carley White who recorded two shots on goal. Michella Tortelli and Prescott Hull also tallied shots on goal for the Chargers.

Junior goalkeeper CeCe Szopa continued her strong start to the season, matching a game-high with six saves across the 90 minutes of action.

The Chargers are back in action at Charger Park on Friday at 12 p.m. against Saint Leo.
