MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The UAH men's basketball team traveled to Montgomery, Alabama, on Saturday afternoon to face off with Gulf South Conference opponent Auburn Montgomery and came away with a 100-66 victory over the Warhawks after dropping a close matchup with Montevallo on Thursday night.
The Chargers improved to 12-4 (7-3 GSC) with the victory, while AUM dropped to 3-12 (1-8 GSC). The win also marked the fifth time the Chargers have eclipsed 100 points in a game this season.Â
UAH led wire-to-wire in the contest and held a 53-26 lead after the first half of play. The Chargers also had a blazing 51.3 three point percentage in the game, going 20-39 from behind the arc.
Rayven Turner led the way for UAH on the scoring end as he put up 19 points, but three other Chargers would join him in double-digit scoring as
Quentin Toles had 16,
Thomas Allard had 14, and
Bryce Mason added 11 points.Â
Defensively,
Matt Thurman totaled a team-leading four steal while he also contributed eight points and seven rebounds.Â
Overall, 12 different Chargers scored in the game, and seven UAH players had eight or more points in the complete team victory.
Next up for the Chargers is a road trip to take on West Alabama next Saturday, January 17. The Tigers currently sit atop the GSC standings.Â
