MEMPHIS, Tenn. | Women's Basketball earned their 22nd victory of the season Thursday night, defeating Christian Brothers 68–46 in Gulf South Conference play.
With the win, UAH improves to 22-4 overall and 17-1 in conference play while moving to 9-1 in road contests this season.
The Chargers held a narrow advantage early, leading by just one point at the end of the first quarter. UAH gradually created separation in the second quarter, taking an eight-point lead into halftime.
UAH took control in the third quarter, delivering the decisive stretch of the game. The Chargers shot 5-for-6 from 3-point range and 6-for-7 from the free throw line in the period, outscoring the Buccaneers 27–14 to build a commanding lead they would not relinquish.
Paris Opelt led the Chargers with a career-best performance, scoring 21 points in 21 minutes. She shot 5-for-7 from the field, 4-for-6 from 3-point range, and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line.
Reigning GSC Player of the Week Lili Wilken added 18 points, connecting on 4-of-5 attempts from beyond the arc. Ivey Maddox also contributed 10 points, including two 3-pointers, as UAH continued its strong perimeter shooting.
UAH will conclude its final road trip of the regular season Saturday afternoon against Union Bulldogs women's basketball in Jackson, Tennessee. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT, as the Chargers face the team currently second in the Gulf South Conference standings.
