HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Baseball fell to the Carson–Newman Eagles 10–6 in a midweek non-conference matchup Tuesday afternoon at Charger Park.
UAH utilized a bullpen day in the contest, with Jake Cardin making the start. Cardin pitched two innings and allowed two runs. The Chargers went on to use 10 pitchers throughout the game, with Jack Doyle, Isaiah Whited, and Cam Gentle each delivering scoreless outings in relief.
The Chargers mounted a late offensive push but were unable to complete the comeback. Jayce Upton led UAH at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, and two runs scored. Nathan Mayfield, Gavin Galenza, Luke Songy, and Brodee Bartlett each drove in a run to support the effort.
With the result, the Chargers move to 4-6 on the season.
UAH will return to Gulf South Conference play Friday afternoon, hosting Lee in the opener of a three-game series at Charger Park. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
