HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Baseball dropped the final game of their weekend series to Drury, falling 14–7 at Charger Park as the Panthers completed a three-game sweep.
UAH struck first in the opening inning. Caleb Mahan delivered double to left-center field, bringing home Seth Staggs and CJ Carson to give the Chargers an early 2–0 lead.
Drury responded quickly and took control in the middle innings. UAH starter Tyler Smith held the Panthers scoreless in the first but ran into trouble in the third inning. Smith allowed six runs over 2.1 innings and was charged with the loss.
The Chargers battled back in the fifth inning to cut into the deficit. Gavin Galenza drove in Trey Greenwell with an RBI single, and Mahan followed with a two-run single to highlight a strong day at the plate. Mahan finished with four RBIs on two hits.
UAH added another run in the eighth inning when Greenwell doubled to score Hugh Windle, marking his first RBI as a Charger.
Despite the late push, Drury's offense proved too much, as the Panthers secured the 14–7 victory to complete the series sweep.
UAH will have the upcoming week off before opening Gulf South Conference play on the road against Christian Brothers. The Chargers are scheduled to face the Buccaneers in Memphis on Friday and Saturday.
