HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Women's Basketball continued their dominant run Saturday afternoon, defeating Mississippi College 83–39 at SportsMED Arena inside Spragins Hall.
The victory marked UAH's 21st win of the season and improved the Chargers to 16–1 in Gulf South Conference play. UAH also extended its home record to a perfect 12–0 and secured its third consecutive win.
Four Chargers scored in double figures, led by Ivey Maddox, who turned in the best performance of her career. Maddox scored a career-high 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including six 3-pointers, helping fuel UAH's offensive surge.
Lili Wilken set the tone early, scoring 11 points in the first quarter on her way to a game-high 23 points. Paris Opelt recorded a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Chloe Siegel added 12 points.
UAH's defense played a decisive role in the win. The Chargers held Mississippi College to just 39 points and limited the Choctaws to single digits in two quarters. UAH's defensive pressure helped build a commanding halftime advantage, as the Chargers scored more points in the first half than Mississippi College did in the entire game.
UAH will return to the road next week, traveling to Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday, Feb. 12, to face Christian Brothers at 5:30 p.m. CT. The Chargers will then head to Jackson, Tennessee, on Saturday, Feb. 14, to take on Union at 2 p.m. CT.
