DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) men's lacrosse team fell to No. 4 Embry-Riddle, 20-9, on Saturday. The loss moves UAH to 1-2 on the season, while the Eagles improve to 3-0.
Embry-Riddle jumped out to an early 5-2 lead in the first quarter and maintained control throughout the contest. UAH rallied in the second quarter, scoring four goals to Embry-Riddle's eight. The Chargers added three goals in the fourth quarter to reach nine on the day.
UAH's offense was led by Aydan Weiszhar, who scored four goals. Jake Bertils added three goals, and Griffin Utz and Makai Hillmon each contributed a goal.
The Chargers recorded 23 ground balls and forced three turnovers, while winning eight of 32 faceoffs. Goaltender Jake Sander made 16 saves on 36 shots on goal.
UAH will return to action next week in Knoxville, Tenn., facing Dominican on Friday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. and Concordia University Irvine on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 9 a.m.
