HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The UAH women's track and field team will be represented by two standout athletes at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for Friday, March 13 through Saturday, March 14. Amiah Murry and Hekla Magnusdottir both earned national qualifying marks during an outstanding indoor season and will compete against the nation's top Division II athletes.
Amiah Murry has been one of the team's top performers this season in the sprint events. She earned Division II National Athlete of the Week honors on Jan. 12 and was named Gulf South Conference Track Athlete of the Week on Jan. 14. Murry also set multiple school records this season, including a 300-meter mark of 39.62 at the UAB Blazer Invitational on Jan. 9 and a 400-meter record of 54.42 at the 2026 Gulf South Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 19–20, improving on her previous school record of 55.76 set on Jan. 30. Her top times this season rank among the team's best marks in the 200 meters (24.22), 300 meters (39.62), and 400 meters (54.42).
Hekla Magnusdottir has made an immediate impact in her freshman campaign, earning GSC Freshman Athlete of the Year honors and being named GSC Field Athlete of the Week twice this season (Dec. 20 and Feb. 4). She set the school record in the pentathlon twice this season, first with 3,559 points at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite on Jan. 30 and later improving to 3,675 points at the 2026 Gulf South Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 19–20. Magnusdottir currently holds the team's top pentathlon score this season and also leads the team in the shot put with a mark of 12.83 meters.
Following the competition, the Chargers will turn their attention to the outdoor season, opening the 2026 campaign at the Ole Miss Classic on March 20-21 in Oxford, Mississippi.
