UAH Athletics to Dedicate Les Stuedeman Field

3/31/2026 10:57:00 AM

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville will officially dedicate its softball field as Les Stuedeman Field on April 3 at Charger Park prior to the team's matchup with Union later in the day, honoring the legendary career and lasting impact of retired head coach Les Stuedeman.

A public dedication ceremony is scheduled for 11:30 a.m at Charger Park. Alumni, former players, university leadership, and community members are invited to attend and celebrate Stuedeman's decades of leadership and achievement.

Stuedeman, who retired following the 2025 season, built the UAH softball program into a national contender during her tenure. With more than two decades at the helm, she posted a 1268-431-1 career record without a single losing season.

Under her leadership, UAH earned 26 NCAA Tournament berths, including 21 straight through 2024; claimed four South Region titles (1999, 2001, 2009, 2011); and finished as the NCAA Division II national runner-up in 2009 and 2011. Her staff earned six South Region Coaching Staff of the Year awards.
