Chargers Set to Host Union in Weekend GSC Series at Les Stuedeman Field

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The UAH softball team is set to host a three-game Gulf South Conference series against Union this Friday and Saturday at Les Stuedeman Field at Charger Park. Friday's doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., while Saturday's series finale is set for noon.

Admission to all regular season events at Les Stuedeman Field is free this season, courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

The Chargers enter the weekend with a 25-14 (9-9 GSC) record, while Union comes in at 13-20 (6-12 GSC).

UAH has been strong offensively this season, ranking among the top teams in the conference. Mia Brown leads the Chargers at the plate with a .404 batting average, which ranks seventh in the conference.

Brittany Slaten is batting .387 on the year and leads the team with 44 runs scored, while also adding 22 stolen bases. Jill Cockrell is hitting .377 and leads the conference with seven triples, while ranking second on the team with 37 runs scored.

In the circle, Megan Shurtz posts a 2.36 ERA, which ranks seventh in the GSC, along with a 10-5 record. Katie Bracken has a 3.20 ERA and 121 strikeouts on the season, which ranks second in the conference.

Union enters the weekend with several key contributors, including Courtney Marler, who ranks among the top 15 in the GSC with a .381 batting average. In the circle, Rylee Moore (2.92 ERA) and Riley Vaughn (2.97 ERA) both rank among the top 10 in the conference in ERA.

Following the weekend series, UAH will face off with Mississippi College on April 10-11 in Clinton, Mississippi.
