HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Completing its regular season non-conference slate, the UAH women's soccer team will hit the road for Clayton State on Wednesday afternoon. Kick-off between the Lady Chargers (5-8-2) and CSU (7-6-2) is scheduled for 4 p.m. CDT.
UAH is 3-1-2 in its last six matches and is being led offensively by
Khadijah Jannah and
Cady Reisman.
The pair has been on fire of late, scoring all eight goals in the Blue and White's last four outings. The hot stretch has put Jannah on top of the scoring ledger with eight goals and one assist for 17 points while Reisman owns 15 points on the strength of seven goals and one assist, and it has propelled them near the top of the GSC standings as Jannah is fourth in goals with Reisman right behind as she sits fifth in the league.
Lady Charger goalkeeper
Iris Gunnarsdottir has remained solid as she now has amassed 87 saves on the season. With two regular season contests remaining, Gunnarsdottir is chasing the school record of 100 saves set by Laura Jackson in 1998.
On Wednesday she will be facing a Clayton State side that averages a tick over 10 shots per game with more than 50 percent of those reaching the target.
Natalia Valentine leads the way with nine goals and two assists for 20 points, and Laoise O'Driscoll has seen the vast majority of time in goal for the Lakers, making 78 stops while allowing 15 goals.
The all-time series between the two schools is tilted greatly toward the Lady Chargers as they hold a 7-3 advantage, and UAH has won the last six meetings including a 4-1 decision last year. In that contest,
Trisha Ehrhardt, Jannah and Reisman tallied goals.
