HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –
Looking to build off of its series split with Nebraska Omaha a week ago, the UAH hockey team will travel to Minnesota State this weekend for a two-game set with the Mavericks. The Chargers head to the State of Hockey with a 1-15-1 record while MSU sits at 4-12-1.

Friday's game is slated for 7:37 p.m. while Saturday's contest will get underway at 7:07 p.m.

It was a weekend of career firsts for several in the Blue and White, headlined by Brice Geoffrion's first two career goals that helped lead UAH to a 3-1 win in Nashville, Tenn., over UNO. Joining Geoffrion in registering their first career points were Doug Reid and Andrew Creppin who assisted on Geoffrion's marker that opened the scoring in the victory.

Tyler Kotlarz also got in on the action as he notched his first career goal in Saturday's 6-2 loss.

With the game-winning strike on Friday, Mac Roy upped his goal total on the year to four to match Kyle Lysaght for the team lead, while Lysaght and Justin Cseter sit on top of the offensive ledger for the Chargers with six points.

Cseter had a strong weekend against UNO as he recorded three assists to give him five helpers on the season.

Earning his first win of the season, Clarke Saunders stopped 45 shots in the UAH triumph last weekend, and he now owns a .918 save percentage to go along with a goals against average of 3.32.

Head Coach Chris Luongo's squad will square up against a Minnesota State team with which it leads the all-time series by a 19-16-4 mark.

MSU dropped a pair of contests with Minnesota last weekend as it fell by scores of
4-2 and 3-2, and the team is currently on an 0-6-1 slide.

The Mavericks are led offensively by JP Lafontaine who has scored a team-best eight goals while adding five assists to own 13 points on the season, and that places him two points ahead of Matt Leitner who has 11 points on the strength of four goals and a team-leading seven assists.

Austin Lee has received the majority of minutes in goal, posting a 3-9-0 record while compiling a goals against average of 3.29 and a
.908 save percentage.

Live coverage of the contest will be provided by msumavericks.com, and fans of the Chargers are encouraged to follow UAH on Facebook (facebook.com/uahchargers) and on Twitter (@uahchargers).
