Lady Chargers Fall Late To Tennessee Wesleyan

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The UAH women's soccer team suffered a tough loss on Saturday, falling 1-0 to visiting Tennessee Wesleyan at Charger Field. The Lady Chargers fall to 1-3 with the defeat while TWC improves to 2-3.

The game was a scoreless affair until the Lady Bulldogs scored a goal in the 83rd minute as Kimberly Key deflected a ball in from right in front.

Making the outcome a particularly tough one, the Lady Chargers seemingly scored within the game's opening minutes, but Luting Sun was whistled for a handball violation to nullify the apparent score.

The Blue and White outshot the guests by a 7-3 margin and also won with four shots on goal compared to three for the Lady Bulldogs. Khadijah Jannah posted a game-best three that were on target.

Iris Gunnarsdottir went the distance in net for the hosts, stopping two shots in picking up her third loss of the season. Rebecca Kennedy earned the win for Wesleyan.

Looking to snap their three-game losing streak, the Lady Chargers will host Martin Methodist on Sunday. Kick-off is slated for 3 p.m.
