HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The UAH women's soccer team fell on Wednesday afternoon, losing 4-1 to visiting Montevallo. The Lady Chargers fall to 1-5 with the loss while UM improves to 2-3.
The visitors tallied the game's first two goals in quick fashion as Katy Hutto scored in the 13th minute before Camilla Alderin drove in one in the 16th minute. The game would remain 2-0 through the end of the first half.
Looking to get back into the game, the Lady Chargers struck early in the second half.
Khadijah Jannah found
Cady Reisman streaking down the middle and placed it perfectly for the junior. Reisman then went one-on-one with the Falcon keeper who nearly made the stop, but the ball skipped over her and trickled into the goal to make it 2-1.
Regaining its two-goal advantage, Montevallo picked up a goal from Taylor Kerr in the 62nd minute to make it 3-1. Aimee Godfrey added a score late in the 87th minute to produce the 4-1 tally.
Collecting four saves,
Iris Gunnarsdottir picked up the loss for the Blue and White. Kaitlin Thomas earned the win for the Falcons.
UAH will now take a week off before beginning conference play when it travels to West Alabama – the newest team in the Gulf South Conference. Kick-off in Livingston is slated for 7 p.m.
