HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Hoping to snap their five-game losing streak, the UAH women's soccer team is set to travel to West Alabama for a contest Wednesday at 7 p.m. The 1-5 Lady Chargers are looking to get their second win of the season as they face first-year program UWA who owns a 3-3 mark.
The game marks the first Gulf South Conference game in West Alabama program history and is also the first this season for the Lady Chargers.
UAH will have to produce more offensively as it has scored more than one goal just once on the season – the season-opening win over Delta State.
Khadijah Jannah is leading the Lady Chargers with five points for the season, while
Luting Sun is right behind her with four points on the year.
Iris Gunnarsdottir has seen all the action in front of the net this year, and she has recorded 26 saves.
In their first season, the Tigers have started out strong, winning out of their first three games, and they enter Wednesday night coming off a big 5-0 victory over Tennessee Temple.
West Alabama's leading offensive player is Nicki Gears as she paces the team with three goals and one assist.
The keeper for UWA is Jess Martin, and she boasts a total of 26 saves as she has seen action in all six contests for Wednesday's hosts.
