HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The UAH Lady Chargers will hit the road for the first time in 2011, visiting North Georgia on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. CDT. UAH enters the contest with a 1-1 mark while the Lady Saints are a perfect 2-0.
The Blue and White split its first two contests, winning 2-1 in overtime over Delta State last Thursday before falling to Lincoln Memorial by the same 2-1 score on Sunday.
Khadijah Jannah scored the only goal for the Lady Chargers in the LMU affair and sits tied with
Luting Sun and
Gillian Harding for the team lead in scoring as the trio accounts for UAH's three scores.
Iris Gunnarsdottir has been solid for UAH in net as she has recorded nine saves over her first two starts in a Lady Charger uniform.
In the all-time series between the two programs, UAH owns the upper-hand as it owns a 4-2-1 mark. One of those two losses came in the last meeting – a 1-0 decision for North Georgia in 2008.
North Georgia's two wins in the 2011 campaign include a 2-0 victory at home over Lees-McRae and a 2-1 road decision at Mount Olive.
Four Lady Saints have combined for the team's four tallies, and Kelsey Martin is leading the squad in points with four as she has recorded a pair of assists to go along with the goal. Kirsten Ross has allowed just one goal while making 10 saves in goal.
