HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Sophomore guard Jasmine Hammon posted her fifth double-double of the season to lead the University of Alabama in Huntsville over Christian Brothers, 76-58, on Sunday afternoon at Spragins Hall. With the win, UAH moves to 13-3 on the year and 4-1 in conference play while CBU falls to 5-12 overall and 2-3 in the league.
 
Hammon finished the day just two points off her career-best in points with a game-high 27 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to notch her fifth double-double of the year and the 10th of her young career. Of her 27 points, 21 came in the first half alone.
 
With the victory, the Lady Chargers moved to 9-0 at home this season which matches the best start at home since the 1982-83 season. One more win at home will give UAH its best record at home to start a season in school history. UAH will have that chance when its hosts West Alabama on Feb. 2 at 5:30 p.m. CST.
 
In addition, UAH now holds its first two-game winning streak over CBU since winning four consecutive from 1997-98 to 2000-01.
 
UAH came out firing in the first half, connecting on 46.9 percent (15-of-32) from the field, including 5-of-10 from beyond the arc, to head into the break with a 20-point advantage, 48-28. In the second half, the Lady Chargers dropped off to shooting just 26.7 percent (8-of-30) but CBU couldn't close to gap any closer than 14 points.
 
Joining Hammon in double figures were junior Bailee Robinson with 15 points and sophomore Jordan Smith with 14 points. Robinson just missed her first career double-double, bringing down eight rebounds – just one board off her career-high.
 
Adrienne McKay led Christian Brothers with a team-high 18 points and grabbing five rebounds. UAH held the advantage in rebounds, cleaning up the glass for 46 boards compared to CBU's 34 rebounds.
 
Up next, UAH travels to Florence, Ala., to face GSC-rival North Alabama on Saturday, Jan. 28. Tipoff at Flowers Hall is set for 1 p.m. CST.
