Women's Soccer To Host Martin Methodist Tuesday

LIVE STATS
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –
The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team will wrap up its three-game homestand on Tuesday as the Lady Chargers (5-6) welcome Martin Methodist (7-3) for a 4:30 p.m. match at Charger Park.

The Blue and White will be looking to avoid a season-long slide as the team dropped a 4-1 match to No. 2 West Florida on Friday before falling late 1-0 to West Alabama on Sunday.

The team will need to pick things up offensively as UAH has only scored three goals in the past four contests with Sydnie Fiocca continuing to lead the way with her six goals and one assist totaling 13 points. The six scores continue to rank her fifth in the Gulf South Conference while the 13 points are good for seventh in the league.

Iris Gunnarsdottir – who is on pace to once again break the school record for saves in a season – currently owns 70 stops and is by far and away tops in the conference as Mary Laza of West Georgia sits in second with 44 saves.

This will mark the sixth meeting between the two programs, and UAH owns a 3-2 advantage all-time against the RedHawks.

Martin Methodist comes into the contest ranked No. 16 in NAIA, and the RedHawks boast a perfect 3-0 mark on the road. The team has been impressive as it averages 2.9 goals per game thus far.
