BOX SCORE
WATERTOWN, Mass. – The Bentley forwards were on full attack Friday night, as the University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team fell 9-1 to the Falcons at the Ryan Skating Arena.
UAH (2-4-1) received a goal from
Jeff Vanderlugt in the second period, but it ultimately wasn't enough as Bentley (2-1) put up nine goals of their own.
For the sophomore Vanderlugt, it was his first goal of the season and the second of his young career. The goal came in the second period off an assist from
Graeme Strukoff. Strukoff picked up assist number three on the season and now has a total of four points.
It was a power-play goal for UAH, who went one-for-four on power-play opportunities on the night.
On paper, UAH was right in the game, as Bentley only outshot the Chargers 33-27, despite winning 9-1. The host Falcons also had more penalties than UAH with a total of 5-2. In the end however, Bentley converted on their opportunities, while UAH struggled to find the back of the net for a second straight game.
Bentley scored two goals in the first period and held a 2-0 lead after one. They made the score 3-0 in the second period when they put up another and this time UAH responded with the Vanderlugt goal.
The Falcons then went on to score six more goals and cruise to their second win of the season.
UAH Goaltender
John Griggs played the first two periods and recorded 16 saves and the five goals allowed, while junior

Bentley saw seven different players' record goals in a well-balanced attack and home victory, with Andrew Gladiuk and Justin Breton each recording a pair of goals for the Atlantic Hockey members.
