Griggs Records 51 Saves, Chargers Fall 3-0

BOSTON, Mass. – Despite recording 51 saves in the game, the University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team fell 3-0 to Northeastern on Saturday night at Matthews Arena.

UAH (0-8-1) was outshot 54-19 by the Huskies (3-4-1) as they struggled to get any good looks at goal.

Northeastern recorded two goals in the first period to go up 2-0, then added another in the third to earn the 3-0 home victory. The third Northeastern goal came on a power play while the earlier goals were at even strength.

Senior John Griggs was challenged all evening by the hosts, as he racked up a season-high 54 saves. He has now recorded 290 saves this season.

It was a packed house on Saturday as over 2000 fans filled Matthews Arena in what was the Chargers' seventh road game in a row.

UAH and Northeastern will do battle once more tomorrow night. The puck drops at 6:00 p.m. central time.
