HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – One final road series awaits the University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team this weekend, as the Chargers face No. 14/15 Nebraska Omaha on Friday and Saturday night.
The Chargers (1-10-1) picked up their first win of the season last weekend against Lake Superior State and now have an even tougher task facing the No. 14/15 Nebraska Omaha Mavericks (6-3-1).
The Mavericks have been playing their best hockey of the season, as they sit 4-1-1 in the always-competitive WCHA. The Chargers meanwhile have had their fair share of struggles, but showed promise this past weekend in Michigan.
This will be the sixth straight weekend that UAH is on the road. The blue and white return home next weekend when they play host to the U.S. Under-18 squad.
The Mavericks hold the all-time advantage over the Chargers by a 8-2-2 margin. This is the third straight season in which the two teams have met.
Kyle Lysaght will look to add to his team lead in goals with three, while
Graeme Strukoff and
Alex Allan have also put in solid performances of late. Goaltender
John Griggs will look to build off a solid outing last weekend that saw UAH pick up their first victory of the season.
The puck drops at 7:37 p.m. on Friday and 7:07 p.m. on Saturday.
