OMAHA, Neb. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team fell hard to the No. 14/15 Nebraska Omaha Mavericks on Saturday night at CenturyLink Center, 8-0.
The Chargers (1-12-1) had a strong performance last night against the Mavericks (8-3-1), but the hosts played their best team game of the season and scored eight goals in the win.
The Mavericks scored one goal in the first, two in the second and added five more in the third period.
Gregg Gruehl picked up the lost in the game, allowing the eight goals and recording 32 saves.
The Chargers finally return home this upcoming weekend, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, when they play host to the U.S. Under-18 squad. Both games on Friday and Saturday are set for 7 p.m.
