Lady Chargers Battle Christian Bros to Five Sets

Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Despite one of their stronger performances of the season, the University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team fell 3-2 to Christian Brothers on Friday night at Spragins Hall.
 
The Lady Chargers (10-20, 4-11 GSC) battled the Lady Bucs (18-9, 11-3 GSC) to five sets, after losing their previous four matches in straight sets.
 
UAH struggled in the first set falling 25-10, but then played some of their best volleyball of the season taking the next two sets from the visitors and a 2-1 match lead.
 
Unfortunately, the Lady Chargers could not fend off Christian Brothers and lost 15-9 in the fifth and decisive set.
 
Haley Snyder and Olivia Bauman led the UAH attack, as each player finished with double-digit kills. Snyder recorded 11 kills while the freshman Bauman added another 10.
 
Stacey Sargent continued her strong season as well, recording 17 digs in the contest and coming through with big plays defensively throughout the match.
 
Christian Brothers was paced by Hannah Kurtz and her 17 kills.
 
The Lady Chargers wrap up their regular season tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. when they take on Union. It will also be senior day as both Kelsey Williams and Kelly Wilson will be honored for their strong careers at UAH.
