UAH Knocks Off West Georiga 9-0 In GSC Play

CARROLLTON, Ga. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville tennis team picked up a big Gulf South Conference victory on Saturday, throttling West Georgia on the road by a 9-0 score as the team surrendered just seven games on the day. The triumph evens the UAH record up both overall and in the GSC at 3-3 (2-2).
 
Things started off strong with a blazing beginning in doubles play as each of the three UAH pairings won 8-1.
 
 In singles play, the Lady Chargers picked up four shutouts with each of Melanie Junod, Maria Lawton, Kasi McDonald, and Adriana Buitrago winning 6-0, 6-0. Lina Carvajal was a 6-0, 6-2 winner, and Alejandra Pacheco rounded the match out with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
 
The team will continue its stay in Georgia on Sunday as it travels to Clark Atlanta.
