HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –
Looking to build on the program's best-ever home start, the University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team is set to host West Georgia for a 5 p.m. contest at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on Saturday. The Lady Chargers enter the contest with a 16-3 (7-1 Gulf South Conference) record, and the Wolves carry an 8-11 (3-5 GSC) mark to Huntsville.

With their 77-57 win over West Alabama on Thursday, the Lady Chargers won their 10th straight game at home to start the season.

Four members of the Blue and White scored in double figures in the contest, led by Jordan Smith's 16.

Smith joins teammate Jasmine Hammon in leading the league's top scoring offense as Hammon sits third in the conference with a scoring average of 17 points per game while Smith is fourth, scoring 16.9 points per game.

Averaging more than 78 points per game, the Blue and White are ranked eighth nationally in scoring.

When the two teams met earlier this season in Carrollton, Ga., Hammon posted a double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds to help her team overcome a halftime deficit to record an 86-72 victory. Two other Lady Chargers scored 20 or more points as Bailee Robinson recorded 21 and Smith added 20.

The Wolves are led by Shunice Hardy who averages 13.3 points per game, and she paced her squad in the earlier meeting with 18 points.

West Georgia had dropped three of its last four including a 58-51 setback at North Alabama on Thursday.

The all-time series between the two programs is tilted in UWG's favor by a 25-15 margin.
