Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team had its three-game winning streak snapped on Thursday as the squad fell 2-0 to visiting Shorter at Charger Park. The Lady Chargers slip to 4-4 (0-1 Gulf South Conference), and the Lady Hawks improve to 2-5 (1-2 GSC).
A pair of quick goals was UAH's undoing on the day as Shorter's Brandi Greenwald scored in the 59th minute, and her teammate Cintia Lamas tacked on a successful strike in the 62nd to produce the 2-0 final.
The Blue and White fired three shots on the visitors' net but were unable to put one past Lady Hawk keeper Katie Stachula, while
Iris Gunnarsdottir turned away three of the five shots that Shorter put on her goal.
In overall shots, the Lady Hawks owned an 11-7 advantage, and corners were knotted at 5-5 on the day.
The Lady Chargers will look to get back in the win column when they return to the road on Monday for a trip to Union in Jackson, Tenn.
