HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Aiming to bounce back from a home setback, the University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team will travel on Monday to Jackson, Tenn., to face Union in a 5 p.m. Gulf South Conference contest. The Lady Chargers enter the game at 4-4 (0-1 GSC), while Union sits at 2-2-2 (0-1-2 GSC).
 
It marks the second straight contest against a GSC opponent that is not eligible for postseason play as Union is on the same path to full NCAA Division II and GSC membership as Shorter.
 
In the contest against Shorter, the Blue and White was held scoreless for the first time since a Sept. 9 defeat at the hands of North Alabama, and if patterns are any indicator, UAH's leading scorer Sydnie Fiocca could very well score on Monday evening.
 
Since notching her first collegiate goals in the Alabama A&M match, the St. Catharine's, Ontario, native has scored in every other game en route to taking over the team lead in goals and points with five and 11, respectively.
 
Not including play this weekend, Fiocca's numbers have her ranked fifth in the league in both categories, and her three game-winning strikes paces the conference.
 
Among other Lady Chargers in the statistical rankings is Khadijah Jannah who was sixth with eight points while her four goals rank sixth also. Three assists on the year has Emily Hancock ranked third in the league, and Iris Gunnarsdottir is tops in the conference with 46 saves.
 
Union enters the contest on a four-game winless streak, recording a 2-2 tie at West Alabama on Sept. 16 before tying Shorter 1-1 on Saturday. Dionna Linn leads the way for the squad with four goals and two assists for 10 points.
