Pair Of Geographical Rivals To Visit Lady Chargers

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –
The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team is set for a two-game home stand this weekend as the squad will welcome crosstown-foe Alabama A&M on Friday at 4:30 before hosting rival North Alabama at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
 
The UNA game is a non-conference contest that does not count in the Gulf South Conference standings.
 
The Lady Chargers enter the weekend with an 0-2 mark on the season, dropping a tight 2-1 contest its last time out on the road at Lincoln Memorial when LMU scored in the closing minutes of regulation.
 
A year after breaking the program record for saves in a season, goalkeeper Iris Gunnarsdottir has already made 15 saves in UAH's two games this season including matching her career high with 11 in the North Georgia contest that opened the season.
 
A&M visits with an 0-6 record, and the Lady Bulldogs have been unable to tally a goal in their first six contests while allowing on average nearly seven scores per contest. The two teams have met five times before with UAH taking three of the contests.
 
North Alabama – champions of the GSC a season ago – defeated Tennessee Wesleyan 5-0 in their only game of the season thus far. Reigning GSC Player of the Year Chloe Roberts scored three times in the contest to pace the squad.
