Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team traveled to West Alabama Friday night and dropped a 2-0 decision after a pair of late goals in the second half. The Lady Chargers fall to 2-5-3 (1-3-0 GSC) on the season, while UWA improves to 6-3-0 (1-1-0 GSC).
UWA scored its first goal in the 83rd minute of the match when Nicki Gears bounced her shot off a defender from six yards out to put the Tigers ahead 1-0. Natalie Perry then tacked on another goal five minutes later in the 88th minute to the put the game out of reach.
The Tigers outshot the Lady Chargers 15-3 while holding an 8-2 advantage in shots in goal as
Iris Gunnarsdottir recorded six saves on the night.
UAH attempted all three of its shots in the second half with
Melody Dodd and
Sydnie Fiocca both notching shots that were on frame.
The Lady Chargers will return to Charger Park on Monday as they face off against Union for the first contest of a seven-game homestand. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
