UAH Gives Up Late Goals in 6-1 Defeat at Anchorage

Box Score ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Chad Brears scored first, but the University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team fell 6-1 at Alaska Anchorage on Saturday night.
 
UAH (0-8-0, 0-6-0 WCHA) saw Brears score his third goal of the season at 8:12 of the first period, when Cody Marooney tallied his first collegiate point on the assist. Brears found the back of the net after a congestion in front of the net, as Marooney dropped him a nice pass.
 
Just 16 seconds later, Alaska Anchorage (5-3-0, 2-2-0 WCHA) would respond to tie the game at 1-1. The Seawolves took the lead they would never relinquish at 9:43 in the second period.
 
Alaska Anchorage would add four third-period goals, scoring both early and late in the period.
 
Matt Larose recorded 22 saves in goal, while dropping his record to 0-4-0.
 
The Seawolves held a 28-19 advantage on shots, despite scoring six goals in the game.
 
Alaska Anchorage also won 33 faceoffs to UAH's 16.

The Blue and White will return home for Friday-Saturday games against 3rd-ranked St. Cloud State. Puck drops at 7:07 p.m. both nights with the first 1,000 fans on Saturday receiving a UAH Chargers thunderstick. All kids who donate a canned good item on Friday will be admitted free as well.
