Alex Allan scored his third goal of the season, but the University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team fell 3-1 at Alaska Anchorage on Friday night at Sullivan Arena.
Allan scored his third goal at 18:04 in the third period, which was the first short-handed goal for UAH this season. The Chargers (0-7-0, 0-5-0 WCHA) could not add another and gave up their third goal of the night just 28 seconds later.
Brett Cameron put the Seawolves (4-3-0, 1-2-0 WCHA) on the board first with a goal at 10:29 in the first period. Cameron scored on the power play after a perfect rebound was setup to give the hosts the early lead.
After a scoreless second period, Alaska Anchorage's Matt Bailey scored to put UAA up 2-0. Bailey finished past
Carmine Guerriero, which gave the Seawolves a 2-0 lead at 4:43 in the third period.
Guerriero finished with 30 saves on the night, while the freshman's record dropped to 0-4-0 on the season.
The Chargers were charged with five penalties on the night, while the Seawolves only had three penalties on the night.
The two teams will do battle again tomorrow night at 10:07 p.m. central time.
