About the Chargers

WEEKEND WRAPUP
The Chargers fell 4-1 on both nights this past weekend to Minnesota State, dropping their record to 1-17-0 and 1-11-0 in the WCHA. The team has also not won a home game yet this season, going 0-8-0.

PRINCE II
Jack Prince scored the second goal of his career on Friday night against the Mavericks, finding the back of the net after a congestion in front of goal. Prince also scored against Bowling Green, which was the first goal of his career.

SCORING SALHANY
Matt Salhany recorded his team leading seventh point of the season on Friday, assisting on Prince's goal. Salhany has recorded multiple points in two games this year and again had a breakaway look on goal but was denied.

SWISS ASSIST
Joakim Broberg notched his second career point on Friday night, assisting on the Jack Prince goal. Broberg also assisted on Prince's goal against Bowling Green.

FIRST TIME
Brandon Clowes tallied the first goal of his career, in what hopes to be the first of many. Clowes redirected a shot from Chad Brears, who picked up the primary assist, to light the lamp from the crease.

WCHA P.O.W.
Frank Misuraca is currently second on the team in points with six, after the reigning WCHA Defensive Player of the Week assisted on the Clowes goal on Saturday.

BACK IS BREARS
Chad Brears scored his fourth point of the season on Saturday, after he picked up the primary assist on Clowes' goal. Brears put a shot on goal from the blue line, before Clowes redirected the shot into the back of the net.

SCORING STREAK
The Chargers have now scored a goal in three straight games, which is tied for the longest scoring streak of the season. UAH scored four against Bowling Green (season high) and one on both nights against Minnesota State.

RETURN HOME
Bowling Green comes to the VBC on Jan. 3-4, marking the second time this season the two teams have met in conference play. UAH lost to BGSU 3-0, before winning their only game of the season in overtime by a score of 4-3 earlier this season in Ohio.

About Wisconsin (courtesy of UW Athletic Communications)

HOME COOKING
Wisconsin is 7-0-1 at home this season, the second-best home start to a season at the Kohl Center behind the 8-0-1 start the 2003–04 Badgers posted. UW is 4-0-0 on its current school-record-long 12-game home stand. UW next plays on the road on Jan. 31.

PENALTY FREE
In UW's last action, the Badgers played their first penalty-free game since a 15-3 victory over Ohio University on Feb. 24, 1967. Wisconsin's game on Dec. 14, against Colorado College was penalty free for both teams, while the game in 1967 saw Ohio University take four penalties.

MASTERFUL MERSCH
Mersch has goals in five consecutive games, six of his last seven contests and in 10 of UW's 14 games this season. The UW record for consecutive games with a goal is 10 over the span of two seasons by Mark Johnson at the end of 1977–78 and the beginning of 1978–79. Steve Alley (10/15-11/16/76) and John Byce (1/6-2/3/90) both scored in nine consecutive games during one season.

Mersch leads the Big Ten with 10 goals and a 0.71 goals per game average. His average ranks seventh in the country.
