Box Score FLORENCE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team travelled to North Alabama on Sunday, falling 2-0 in a GSC contest behind a pair of first-half goals for the hosts. The Lady Chargers slip to 0-3-3 (0-3-0 GSC), while UNA improves to 3-4 (1-1 GSC).
UNA opened the scoring just 12 minutes into the game when Danielle Scanlon notched her first score of the season, and Chloe Richards would make it a 2-0 lead in the 26th minute with what was also her first tally of the year.
The Lions held a 15-7 advantage in shots in the contest while also holding a 6-3 edge in shots on goal as
Iris Gunnarsdottir recorded four stops in goal for the Lady Chargers.
Melody Dodd paced UAH with a pair of shots that were on frame.
Corners in the contest were even at 6-6, and the Lady Chargers held a 4-2 edge in the second 45 minutes at they attempted to make the comeback.
UAH will continue GSC road action on Wednesday as it travels to Rome, Ga., to take on Shorter. Kick-off is slated for 5 p.m. CDT.
