GAME NOTES
•UAH continues life on the road with a visit to Christian Brothers on Thursday before venturing to Cleveland, Miss., to face Delta State on Saturday.
•UAH owns a 2-5 mark away from Spragins Hall on the season including a 1-4 mark in conference play with the victory an 80-72 win at Shorter on Jan. 9.
•The duo of Jordan Smith and Hammon continue to pace the league in scoring with 22.8 and 19.9 points per game. CBU's Brianna Ridgell is the next best scorer with 16.9 points per game.
•The two also rank high nationally with Smith ninth in the country and Hammon ranked 27th.
•Hammon has played eight contests this season in which she has played at least 30 minutes, and in those contests, the senior is averaging 24.8 points per contest -- five more than her season average of 19.8.
•With two of the nation's top scorers, the Lady Chargers rank second in the country in scoring with 93.1 points per game. Glenville State is first with a scoring average of 104.6.
•UAH ranks 28th in the country and first in the conference with a rebounding margin of 7.0 thanks to a terrific rebounding average of 49.3 per contest. The Lady Chargers are 6-1 this season when recording 50 or more rebounds.
•Juanice Newton leads UAH on the glass with 9.2 rebounds per contest. She has eight games in which she has recorded 10 or more rebounds.•Seven times this season both Hammon and Smith have scored 20 points.
•UAH is shooting 41.8 percent in its nine home games this season, posting a 7-2 mark at Spragins Hall, while the team is hitting just 35.9 percent of its attempts on the road en route to a 2-5 record.
•UAH's opponents are shooting well from beyond the arc when welcoming the Lady Chargers to their floor, connecting on 47.0 percent of their 3-point attempts. Teams are shooting just 28.0 percent from beyond the arc in the Rocket City.
•Smith is one player that bucks the trend of shooting 3s better at home than on the road as she has connected on 37.9 percent of her 3-point tries in away games while registering a 3-point field goal percentage of 32.5 percent at home.
•Other than Hammon and Smith, Shannon Steinert is the only Lady Chargers to average double figures on the road with 11.3 points per game -- a mark that is higher than her season average of 10.1.
•UAH leads the league with 16.5 steals per game, and four different Lady Chargers are in the GSC top 10 in steals: Steinert (1st, 3.6), Hammon (5th, 2.5), Juanice Newton (7th, 2.4) and Smith (10th, 2.0).
•Steinert ranks fourth in the country with 3.6 steals per game, recording at least five steals in seven games including a season-high nine against Trevecca Nazarene on Nov. 20.
•With 58 takeaways, Steinert is now chasing the single-season program record for steals which was set by Annette Fletcher in the 1986-87 season when she recorded 84.
About the Opponents
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
•The Lady Bucs have won three straight -- including a 67-60 win at Valdosta State in their last game -- and enter Thursday night with a 6-3 mark at home.
•Breanna Ridgell sits third in the GSC behind Smith and Hammon in scoring, pacing her team with 16.9 points per game, and she scored a season-best 30 against the Lady Chargers earlier this year in Huntsville.
•The team is shooting 44.6 percent from the floor while limiting the opposition to a field goal percentage of 35.5 percent.
DELTA STATE
•Prior to losing to West Florida 65-58 in Pensacola last weekend, the Lady Statesmen had ripped off 12 straight wins to climb in the national rankings.
•Chelsey Rhodes paces Delta State with 15.7 points per contest, while Seneca Walton is scoring 14.7 a night and leading the GSC with 9.6 rebounds per game.
•The Lady Statesmen are particularly strong in the first half of games, outscoring the opposition 505-360 in the opening 20 minutes. The margin is only 572-505 in the second half.
Series History
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
•Saturday's meeting will be the 20th all-time between the two program as UAH holds a slight 10-9 advantage in the all-time series after knocking off CBU in Huntsville 88-76 earlier in the year.
•Last year in Memphis, the Lady Chargers dominated Christian Brothers, winning 77-47 as Jasmine Hammon scored 17 points.
DELTA STATE
•Saturday's hosts own a 13-4 advantage all-time against the Lady Chargers, including this season's 78-69 decision in Huntsville. Jordan Smith scored 20 to lead UAH in the setback.
•Delta State won last year's meeting in Cleveland, taking an 83-60 decision.
