MEMPHIS | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team snapped its three-game skid on Thursday night, picking up a strong 78-62 win on the road at Christian Brothers in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 10-7 (5-6 GSC) with the triumph, while CBU slips to 10-7 (6-5 GSC).

Jordan Smith scored 24 of her team-best 29 points in the second half, while
Jasmine Hammon added 21 – 17 of which came in the first stanza – to lead the Lady Chargers in the victory. Smith hit four of the team's 10 3-pointers, and she was also strong at the charity stripe where she went 13-of-15.

The contest was a high-scoring affair in the first half as UAH took a slim 42-40 lead into the locker room at the half, and the game remained close as UAH led 56-52 near the midway point of the second before going on a 18-3 run – sparked by one of Smith's triples – to produce the team's largest lead of the night at 74-55.

UAH ended up outscoring the host Lady Bucs 36-22 in the second half en route to the victory.

For the game, UAH shot 45.1 percent from the field while limiting CBU to a shooting mark of 35.1 percent, and Christian Brothers won the battle on the glass by a slim 37-35 margin. Smith paced UAH in the rebounding category with seven on the night.
Hammon matched a season-best with six takeaways as UAH finished the night with 12 steals.

UAH will now wrap up its four-game road trip when it travels to Delta State on Saturday for a 2 p.m. contest in Cleveland, Miss.
